Privacy Policy & SMS Terms
Last updated: August 21, 2026
ottjott (ottjott.com) is a private household task-list application operated by Matthew Bishop and used exclusively by members of his household. It is not offered to the public, has no commercial purpose, and collects no information from visitors.
What information the app uses
The app stores task-list items and related documents in the operator's own Microsoft 365 tenant. Sign-in is restricted to household member accounts in that tenant. No analytics, advertising, tracking cookies, or third-party data collection of any kind are used. No information is sold or shared with anyone.
SMS / text-message program
ottjott sends task-reminder text messages (for example, notice that a task on the shared household list is due) to the personal mobile phones of the two household members who operate and use the app. Both recipients have expressly requested these reminders by enabling them in the app. No one else can receive messages from this program, and phone numbers are never collected from the public.
- Opt-in: reminders are enabled by the recipient, inside the app, for their own number only.
- Message frequency: varies with task due dates; typically a few messages per week at most.
- Fees: message and data rates may apply per your mobile carrier plan.
- Opt-out: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving reminders. Reply HELP for help, or email the operator at bishfish@gmail.com.
- Privacy: phone numbers are used only for sending these reminders and are never shared with, sold to, or used by any third party. Carrier data is never shared.
